Q: How do you keep popcorn fresh?
A: Pure and simple—to keep popcorn fresh, you want to limit its contact with air. If your popcorn comes in a package, tightly seal the unused portion using a twist tie or rubber band. You can also place the popcorn in a plastic zipper lock bag—suck the excess air out of the bag, seal, and it’ll stay crunchy for weeks. In general, coated popcorns like Caramel Corn will stay fresher for longer than non-candied recipes (like Jalapeño Cheddar, shown above—best eaten FRESH). We guarantee freshness to any unopened packages of Popcornopolis popcorn for 6 months. Atmospheric moisture is also a freshness killer, so if you live in an area with high humidity, eat your popcorn faster!
Q: Can you freeze popcorn?
A: Good news, you CAN freeze popcorn. Just be sure to use a freezer bag, and again, eliminate as much air space inside the bag as possible. Of course, nothing beats fresh popcorn, which is one reason (of many) you'll favor our stay-fresh cones and resealable tins. They keep the crunch going and going.
Q: Can you bake with popcorn?

Q: What is popcorn, anyway?
A: There are four categories of corn: dent, flint, sweet corn, and popcorn. Popcorn is the only one that pops because of the unique properties of its hull and kernel. When you heat it up, the moisture inside the kernel creates steam which creates pressure. Eventually, the pressure causes the hull to burst open, and voilá! Pop, pop, pop! A: Our popcorn comes exclusively from farms here in the U.S.A. We work hard to find the absolute best popcorn around, and once we’ve found it, we stick with it. That’s why we’ve worked with the same family farmers for years.
Q: What’s the best oil for popping popcorn?
A: We experimented with many oils when we created our Caramel Corn way back when started Popcornopolis. Nothing came close to the deliciousness of coconut oil.
