Another successful year of giving at Popcornopolis!
...and another biscuit in the basket for for the LA Kings! The crowd was amped up at last week’s game where the Kings beat crosstown-rival Anaheim Ducks 6 to 1! Team Popcornopolis was also in the crowd, having a blast watching the two teams race across the rink. We were there for another reason, too—to present a check to the Kings Care Foundation for $18,353 for all the wonderful work they do!
At the game, Dave Brisbois (our Vice President of Marketing, 2nd from left) and Jonathan Klein (our Director of Fundraising, center), presented the check alongside hockey legend Luc Robitaille, who is also the president of business operations for the Kings, the team's chief operating officer Kelly Cheeseman—and of course, Bailey, the Kings’ superstar lion mascot.
The LA Kings Care Foundation improves access to education, recreation, and health-related programs for kids in the greater Los Angeles community. As in previous seasons, we donated $150 to the organization for each and every penalty killed during the entire season. A “Penalty Kill” (PK) is when the team is down one or more players due to penalties, and successfully defends itself against opponent scoring. It’s an exciting moment on the ice (and in the stands) for sure!
Popcornopolis has also teamed up with Bailey and the LA Kings to promote local fundraising projects as well. In addition to helping schools and other non-profit organizations, an additional percentage of proceeds is given to Kings Care. Learn more about that opportunity here.
Hockey legend Luc Robataille and Popcornopolis’ very own Jonathan Klein ham it up after the game.
