For the true popcorn enthusiast, there is no better snack than our Nearly Naked popcorn. It contains just three ingredients: pure fluffy popcorn, a bit of coconut oil and the perfect hint of salt. It’s the favorite flavor of Popcornopolis chef and Director of Research and Development Phil Fox. In our recent interview, Phil told me that when he’s at home, he loves to play around with Nearly Naked by adding different ingredients. What’s his go-to? Tons of black pepper and smoked paprika. “I love the smoky savoriness,” Phil explained.
As for me, I have a couple favorite variations too.
Nearly Naked with lots of freshly grated parmesan
I prefer really aged parmesan for that really strong, nutty flavor. Sometimes, I add chile flakes for a kick, and if I want to go ultra gourmet, I toss in some truffle oil. This one is always a hit with guests.
Nearly Naked with cacao nibs
Cacao nibs are just cocoa beans that have been roasted and broken up into little pieces. I adore the crunchiness of these little nibs scattered about the Nearly Naked popcorn. Because there’s no sugar in the cacao nibs, I like to add dried cranberries for some sweet and tangy chewiness.
Nearly Naked with sriracha
This suggestion is for the chile heads out there. Add as much sriracha (or your favorite hot sauce) as you can handle and then a generous squeeze of lime. You might want to have some water or beer handy too.
